What is the temperature resistance of a graphite crucible?

2023-6-9 15:38:15

The maximum temperature of the graphite crucible can reach 1800 degrees Celsius and can be used for a long time! But generally, graphite crucibles are used below 1300 degrees Celsius.

Precautions for using graphite crucibles

It mainly depends on the operating conditions. If used in the air at over 600 degrees Celsius, oxidation will begin and the service life will not be affected

1. The crucible should be stored in a ventilated and dry environment to avoid moisture affecting its use.

2. The crucible should be handled with care during transportation, and it is strictly prohibited to fall or roll to avoid damaging the protective layer on the surface of the crucible.

3. Before use, the crucible should be baked in advance. The baking temperature should be gradually raised from low to high, and the crucible should be constantly flipped to evenly heat and remove moisture from the crucible. The preheating temperature should gradually increase to over 500 degrees Celsius (if not preheated properly, the crucible may peel off or burst, which is not a quality issue and will not be returned or replaced)

4. The crucible furnace should be matched with the crucible, and the gaps between the upper, lower, and surrounding areas should meet the requirements. The furnace cover should not be pressed against the crucible body.

5. When using, it is necessary to avoid direct flame spraying on the crucible body and spray towards the crucible base.

6. When adding materials, they should be slowly added, preferably crushed materials. Large materials should not be loaded too much or too tightly to avoid cracking the crucible.

7. The Crucible tongs used for charging and discharging shall be consistent with the shape of the crucible to avoid crushing the crucible.

8. It is best to use the crucible continuously in order to better utilize its high performance.

9. The amount of additive required during the melting process, excessive use will reduce the service life of the crucible.

10. When using a crucible, it should be rotated periodically to evenly heat it and extend its use.
